Five star accommodation in Sri Lanka

While Sri Lanka provides ample accommodation for visitors on any sort of budget, the country boasts a range of five-star accommodation all across the island for the more discerning visitor to the country. From the larger hotel chains to the stylish boutique hotels on the beaches of the South to the hills in the heart of Sri Lanka, one has no shortage of options to choose from.

In the city of Colombo, some of the options include the Hilton, a popular choice amongst business travellers and the Cinnamon Lakeside, strategically located in the very centre of the city with its breathtaking views of both the Beira Lake and the Indian Ocean. For those looking for old-world charm in the country’s commercial capital, the Galle Face Hotel, hailed as masterpiece of Victorian architecture, is an ideal choice.

Up in Sri Lanka’s cooler climes are many hotels and charming colonial bungalows nestled amidst tea plantations and misty hills. One such hotel is the iconic Tea Factory, sitting on one of the highest points of the tea country, which was converted from a tea factory and has retained most of its original features, offering a very different experience to the many tea plantation bungalows. Yet another option, with striking views of the Mahaweli River, is the Earl’s Regency hotel located in a suburb of the highland capital of Kandy.

Heading down South, one finds many stylish and chic boutique hotels, each with their own unique features, positioned just a step away from the sparkling blue waters and golden sands of the beaches.
Sri Lanka’s wildlife sanctuaries, acclaimed the world over for its lush biodiversity, too feature many game lodges and hotels for those looking to explore the diverse marvels of nature the country has to offer.
